Lay This Laurel, Special Edition

This photograph of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' great monument to Colonel Robert Gould Shaw and his Fifty-Fourth Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, reproduced in hand-pulled gravure, was made by the publishing firm, Curtis & Cameron in 1897, the year of the monument's unveiling on Boston Common.

In celebration of the monument's centennial anniversary, the Eakins Press Foundation has produced an edition of one-hundred copies of Lay This Laurel, Special Edition. The hand-pulled gravure is by Jon Goodman. The handmade folio and slip-case binding are by Jim DiMarcantonio. The folio is self-standing and provides a fine display and presentation for the gravure that it holds.
